Srinagar, Sep 07 (KNO): The autumn session of the Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly is shaping up to be a packed affair, with legislators submitting 650 questions, 16-17 Private Member Bills, and around 50 resolutions, sources disclosed. Officials disclosed to news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that the Assembly Secretariat has received around 650 questions from MLAs. Each legislator was permitted to submit eight questions- four starred and four unstarred -for the upcoming session beginning September 21. According to sources, MLAs from both treasury and opposition benches have submitted 16-17 Private Member Bills. While members are entitled to introduce bills, such proposals rarely pass due to time constraints, as only one or two days are reserved for Private Member Bills during a session. In contrast, government bills - introduced by ministers- are not fettered by time limits and usually pass in the House. The Secretariat has also received 50 Private Member Resolutions from MLAs. As per the Rules of Procedure and Conduct of Business in the J&K Assembly, seven resolutions will be chosen through a draw of lots to be listed for introduction in the House. These resolutions will first be examined to determine whether they are admissible under the Rules—(KNO)
